nyc is a hot bed for fashion & art, & the city is combining the two to bring a public exhibition to broadway streets called, sidewalk catwalk. this is a dope art exhibit that showcases a collection of 33 mannequins each uniquely styled & designed by top fashion designers. the exhibit will be on display until september 3rd, & runs from herald square to times square. if you are in nyc, this is a must see!

Let me start by saying that I just LOVE your blog! I’ve seen others but yours is by far my fav, from the layout to the content. You never fail to bring hot ish to the fashionably challenged and to those who need some ideas to expand on. Once you post the hot trends, I look for those that are a little easier on my purse. Now when I hit the mall or surf the web, I know exactly what I’m looking for and what look I’m trying to achieve with certain pieces.

Some time ago you posted a piece about this rental service called Rent the Runway. Well, I tried it out and I must say that I loved it! I rented a Tibi dress for a wedding that I attended this weekend with my boyfriend and it was a hit! I received compliments about the dress all night! Had you not mentioned it on your blog I would have never ever ever known about such a fantastic thing. Whoever thought of such an ingenious idea?! I cannot begin to tell you how many “one time” dresses I have in the back of my closet. Being seen in the same dress twice is a big no-no!

I will most definitely use this service again. It’s absolutely fabulous! I trusted your eye to bfly and I rocked!!!! Thanks for keeping me posted!

the designer behind michelle obama's inaugural dress, isabel toledo, will be debuting a collaborative effort with payless shoes in september. this announcement is truly a shocker because isabel is known for her design skill of runway fashion. this woman is truly a genius! she sketches absolutely nothing...instead she articulates her ideas to her husband, ruben toledo (the incredible artist who does all of the nordstrom ads), who then conveys her ideas while she takes fabric & begins draping as she is speaking. by the time she finishes draping, ruben's sketch is complete. some may call this "backwards," but i call it genius. she's an incredible woman with a sweet nature, & i can't wait to see what this collabo will bring to the masses.

omg the shows in berlin were fabo!!!!!!!!!! i've posted three of my fave designers runway videos so you guys can share in the excitement of their collections with me. the collections were super chic with subtle hints of WOW via the accessories. check it...

sam frenzl - my new designer love affair!!! siiiiick! his collection screamed my name with every piece that sashayed down that catwalk. i literally loved every piece of eeeeverythang!!! the chunky knits, drop waist wool blazers......omg!!, chiffon dresses, & all the accessories were to die for (did you see the jewelry & that hat?!)!! the detailing in the collection blew my mind. it's so me! he pushed the envelope but the line remained very chic.

allude - i absolutely loved the draping in this collection. the tonal color combinations of black, grey, burnt orange & red were amazing. the fringe drop earrings.......uhhhhh yea, a girl needs those!
