because i like this girl (yes i said it....i like her - as an actress), i wanted to post on her new venture. macy gray will be re-launching her women's plus size clothing line, humps, next year. we will wait to see. in the meantime, i want to see her in another movie!! i actually enjoy her craziness on screen!

Let me start by saying that I just LOVE your blog! I’ve seen others but yours is by far my fav, from the layout to the content. You never fail to bring hot ish to the fashionably challenged and to those who need some ideas to expand on. Once you post the hot trends, I look for those that are a little easier on my purse. Now when I hit the mall or surf the web, I know exactly what I’m looking for and what look I’m trying to achieve with certain pieces. 

Some time ago you posted a piece about this rental service called Rent the Runway.  Well, I tried it out and I must say that I loved it! I rented a Tibi dress for a wedding that I attended this weekend with my boyfriend and it was a hit! I received compliments about the dress all night!  Had you not mentioned it on your blog I would have never ever ever known about such a fantastic thing. Whoever thought of such an ingenious idea?! I cannot begin to tell you how many “one time” dresses I have in the back of my closet. Being seen in the same dress twice is a big no-no!  

I will most definitely use this service again. It’s absolutely fabulous! I trusted your eye to bfly and I rocked!!!! Thanks for keeping me posted!

a woman of true style & grace, china machado, just fell into the fashion world making history as the first non-caucasian face to grace a major american fashion magazine. at age 19, she made an impulse decision to run away with the most famous bullfighter in the world at that time. here are a few pics from her spread in w magazine's march issue. i liiiiike her!

alexander mcqueen was set to release an underwear line, & was working on designs up until his death. the underwear collection was one of his final projects. arriving to stores in june, the underwear will include signature design details of skulls on the waistband of boxers & briefs, allover prints of feathers, x-rays, & a collage of bones.

another greatly anticipated collabo is in store-- this time between forever 21 & designer brian lichtenberg. this is forever 21's first effort at a collaboration deal, & i'm sure it won't be the last. the line will include graphic t-shirts which should be pretty dope!

* isabel toledo does payless...

the designer behind michelle obama's inaugural dress, isabel toledo, will be debuting a collaborative effort with payless shoes in september. this announcement is truly a shocker because isabel is known for her design skill of runway fashion. this woman is truly a genius! she sketches absolutely nothing...instead she articulates her ideas to her husband, ruben toledo (the incredible artist who does all of the nordstrom ads), who then conveys her ideas while she takes fabric & begins draping as she is speaking. by the time she finishes draping, ruben's sketch is complete. some may call this "backwards," but i call it genius. she's an incredible woman with a sweet nature, & i can't wait to see what this collabo will bring to the masses.

jessica simpson has a new show that takes her to different parts of the world to explore the definition of female beauty by cultural standards. the show is called the price of beauty & it premiered last monday on vh1. i greatly enjoyed the first show & learned a lot!! i will definitely be tuning in every monday night at 10pm. maybe you will enjoy it as much as i did.

* tatted up by chanel...

i noticed in the spring/summer chanel fashion show that the models were inked up with what appeared to be chanel tattoos. i thought the permanent dedication to the designer & brand was maybe a requirement of the models to walk the catwalk, but then i thought that would be ridiculous-- or the models pay check had to be sick for agreeing to the terms. either way, i did some research & came across what i think is pretty cool.....temporary chanel tattoos. i actually love it! if you do too, you can purchase a sheet of 5 for $75 from chanel's official website.

madonna is still giving it to yall in all her fierceness (is that a word?). she has teamed up with dolce & gabbana to design a collection of sunglasses, set to hit stores in may. chick is so seductive! how old is she again?! doesn't matter but.......geeez!

* on my bday list...

let's see who really loves me! i am letting everyone know that this dalla nonna calendar necklace is at the top of my birthday list (may 14th is the date & emerald is the birthstone). i would love to unwrap a box with this dainty little baby in it. you have a little less than 2 months to get your mind right :~} GO!!!!

i'm having a real connection with the putty colored & deeply creamy pastel nail polish hues for spring & summer. last year i was all over the neons & minx prints, but this year i'm keeping it neutral with the putty's & pastels. sweet!

* rose gold...

a sweeter & more neutral metallic is making it's presence in fashion. i'm loving this switch from silver & gold metallics to rose gold.
